Education...

For well over ten years I have been a regular poster on a music website, and this site has it's own porn thread where people post links to porn or discuss porn. In recent times there's been a young guy on there (17 I believe) who is enormously well educated and seems to be able to run rings around most people when it comes to most subjects, I mean how many seventeen year olds do you know who have an informed opinion on female circumcision? Which wouldn't be so bad if he wasn't so bloody 'right-on'...
One area where he is particularly clueless is women, and I take great delight in this because he thinks he knows what he's talking about and he is going to find out the hard way sooner or later. He truly believes that all porn is bad, and exploitative of women, and blah blah blah blah blah.... nothing you haven't heard before a million times really.
So recently someone posted a porn clip into the thread which showed a M/f BDSM scene, I couldn't actually be bothered to watch it but I'm sure it wasn't much to shout about, someone mentioned something about toe-sucking so if that was the highlight well.... actually there was some choking and face slapping but from what was said it wasn't anything that you wouldn't see in any normal Gonzo porn DVD.
Naturally this sent off our young friend on another of his rants, and some of the other posters were taking the piss out of him for his conservative viewpoint. Indeed one (female) poster was trying to make him aware that indeed some women do like to be submissive and (as he would see it) 'abused' in bed, but it was too much for his massive brain to compute.
She actually posted, ":...in this thread the 17 year old virgin doesn't understand sex...", which. I must confess, made me laugh a little.
So I decided the best way to blow his mind would be to copy and paste part of a post from Good Hubby's blog, I can only imagine his face when he was reading about NW begging to have her vulva whipped until it was swollen to twice it's normal size.... I mean, I found that quite hard to read, so I can't imagine what he made of it...
Still, if it knocks this stupid idea that BDSM is all 'violence against women' out of him then it's all to the good. Of course the chances of him hooking up with a women who takes pleasure in physical pain are slim, but if he at least learns that life, and sex in particular isn't all as black and white as he perceives it then that has to be a good thing, doesn't it?
After all, it would be a shame if he ends up dating a girl who's desperate to reveal her 'sordid' secret, and he's so shocked and confused by it that he treats her like a freak and tries to convince her that she's been 'brainwashed' by porn or some nonsense. I (like most of you) know how hard it is to tell a lover that you want something 'unusual' and the last thing you need when you do is some moralising arsehole telling you that you're weird and disgusting.
There's nothing worse than a know it all seventeen year old is there. I'm sure I wasn't like that when I was seventeen, in fact I know I wasn't... at seventeen I was pretty clueless about women and I was all too aware of it. The internet and Wikipedia in particular has a lot to answer for....
